We have fished with Bob Stonewater for the last 13 years with more great experiences than we can count. In fact our whole family has fished with Bob including my son, daughter, brothers, and nephews with never a dull moment. This next year my goal is to get my oldest granddaughter, at eight, out for a day. We book two or three trips a year and will continue to do so for as long as we can, nothing beats shiner fishing on the St. Johns and Suwannee Rivers.

In 2007 after countless nine pound plus bass, I caught my first 10 pounder on the Suwannee River, it was actually over 12 pounds, and while I was still so excited I could hardly hold a pole, I caught my second 10 pounder on the next cast. The Suwannee is a great fishery but you have to know how to fish it with the tides, which of course Bob has mastered. This has allowed my son and me to enjoy numerous great experiences fishing on the Suwannee.

Rodman Reservoir will always be a special fishery for me. After numerous nine and 10 pound bass, I caught a personal record in some great looking lily pads on a cloudy cool December 2010 afternoon. Bob had me cast between some lily pad beds and after the explosion, the result was a 15 pound 6 ounce bass. I’ll never forget it and a replica of that fish hangs on our “Wall of Fame” in our home. Another great Rodman trip was earlier that fall with my brother-in-law and nephew from Richmond, Virginia. We fished the log fields with tremendous top water action; it was an experience they’ll never forget.

My wife’s favorite place is Lemon Bluff area of the St. Johns. She’s landed several 10 pounders in that area and always wants to fish “down south.” However her first 10 pounder was at High Banks, a location where all of my family has had success over the years. My son and daughter had their first 10 pounders in that area as well. It isn’t all about ten pound bass; I don’t know how many trips we’ve had where our average is 30, 40, or 50 plus fish a day. It’s unbelievable that we’ve had to take the poles out of the water just to eat lunch! The trip that stands out the most was in 2004; my son and I caught 75 plus quality fish (3 pounders plus) on three consecutive days at Deleon Springs, Spring Garden Lake. We still are amazed by it.

Bob finds the fish and gives you every chance to catch them; he does an outstanding job coaching/teaching fisherman of all skill levels, and he’s a lot of fun to be around. You will not be bored and you’ll enjoy every moment.

My father and I have been fishing with Bob since 1998. We live in California and when we read about Bob Stonewater’s Trophy Bass Guide Service located in DeLand, Florida, we decided to take a trip with Bob. Ever since that initial trip we try to get back to Florida at least twice a year, as the fishing experience is something you won’t find anywhere else. With Bob, we have fished all over the St. Johns River, as well as the Stick Marsh, the Suwannee River, and the Rodman Reservoir. Bob is really good at finding fish to catch. We have caught many 7- to 10-pound bass in all of those places. We have sometimes caught 30 to 40 fish in a day. I caught my biggest fish at the Stick Marsh, an 11-pound, 2-ounce bass that is on my wall, while last year my father got a 12-pound, 2-ounce hog that is on his wall! To say the least, we will continue to fish with Bob, and we HIGHLY recommend using his services if you are looking for a great experience.

I have been fishing with Bob Stonewater’s Trophy Bass Guide Service for over 10 years. After trying several locales, including Mexico, I discovered Bob’s service. Now I wouldn’t fish anywhere else. Not only are the bass the largest I’ve ever caught (many over 8 lbs and several over 10 lbs), but the service is impeccable. Today fishing with Bob is a family affair: my son, sons-in-law, and my four small grandsons have all fished with Bob.
